Many industries involve coating products with a flammable solvent or mixture of solvents and then run through an oven or dryer to dry the solvents, so they are removed from the finished product. Examples of process ovens & dryers applications include:

  • Foil Finishing
  • Film Coating
  • Tape Making
  • Curing Ovens
  • Adhesives
  • Laminating
  • Ceramic Curing Ovens
  • Paper Coating & Glazing
  • Pharmaceutical Coating
  • Paper, Film & Foil Converting
  • Batch Ovens

While there are many different process heating needs in manufacturing with varying factors within these applications (temperatures, heating and cooling cycles, atmospheres), the key hazard is that an explosion from the build up of solvent vapors is possible and its imperative that it is monitored.
